About Natasha
Natasha Norie Standard is an American veteran, designer, and entrepreneur who founded the luxury footwear companies Norie Shoes and EQWAL Footing. A former U.S. Army Major, she is known for combining her military background and tenacity with her lifelong passion for fashion to create comfortable, high-end women's shoes. Standard served 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Major who handled Special Operations and logistics. She was also an airborne paratrooper and credited the military with teaching her leadership skills and tenacity.
Her love for fashion began at age 12 when her grandmother bought her first Vogue magazine. While on military deployment in Germany, Italy, and Iraq, she immersed herself in the culture and arts.
After retiring from the military, she earned a master's degree in luxury and fashion management from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). She then attended Milan's prestigious Arsutoria School to study shoe design and manufacturing.
In 2018, she launched the Norie Shoe Company to create high-quality, comfortable, and wearable luxury shoes for women. The footwear is designed in New York City and handmade in Italy.
Standard also founded EQWAL Footing, a company focused on producing protective footwear for women in male-dominated professions like the military and engineering
